Across February 2026, AECURN members were circulated a survey to provide information about themselves, and to assist the committee in planning activities and events members would want to see and become involved in within the group.
Through this survey, members were asked about their location, current projects and activities, areas of interest, potential contribution to the network, and were asked to express their interest in AECURN activities and events they would like to see and would be interested in attending.
The member survey was circulated to 108 members in February 2026 recording 33 responses, representing a 30% response rate.

The survey asked members to indicate their intended involvement with AECURN, including stepping into a leadership role on the committee, or through event organisation.
It was wonderful to see the interest members had in the network, with half of the respondents expressing an interest in assisting the organisation of events and activities.
Desired activities and events
AECURN running events at major conferences was the preferred activity indicated by members, although funding and ongoing employment concerns were raised as a potential barrier for this activity type.
Online webinars were also suggested as highly desirable by members surveyed, with 81% of respondents indicating their interest in webinars. Webinars also cater to respondents who stated they reside in regional areas/other states, and for others who might find it hard to attend events, either due to cost, distance, or work security.
Webinars and other online events include activities such as writing retreats, shut-up and write sessions, and virtual conferences.
The data collected through this survey has been foundational in allowing AECURN to build a picture of our current members, their areas of interest, capacity to be involved in the group, and interest in network activities and events. These findings will be used to assist in shaping a stronger, engaged network for our members.
